Wear OS, is a YouTube app for smartwatches coming? The clue is from Google
A smartwatch is a useful device to take a quick look at notifications, respond quickly (perhaps using voice dictation), pay via NFC and monitor some vital parameters as well as your sports performance. All things that, despite the sacrificed size of the display, can be done very well. Less comfortable, of course, is the idea of watch a video on the watch: yet sooner or later on Wear OS this option it could become reality (There are already apps that allow it, it should be specified, but they are not developed directly by Google).
GOOGLE ALLOWS AN IMAGE TO ESCAPE AND THEN DELETE IT
The clue comes directly from the Mountain View giant: on the Wear OS support page on the official website dedicated to the transition from Google Pay to Wallet, which took place just yesterday, un Wear OS screen showing, among the app list, also the new YouTube icon.
The image was then removed, but not before keen observers noticed it, and then began to question whether there is an upcoming YouTube app for smartwatches.
After all, it could be useful: YouTube is not just a container of videos and contents that must be watched in order to be enjoyed, but it is increasingly full of podcasts and discussions, which can therefore also only be listened to. Furthermore, it could be an excellent launcher for Chromecast devices and Smart TVs in general (already now you can control the playback of videos on Youtube via smartwatch, but it is not possible to choose and start them directly from the wrist, and instead it is necessary to do it via other devices. such as smartphone).
At the moment the information stops here, the clue contained in the removed image: to find out more we will probably have to wait for Google to always make the next move. And maybe next time it won’t be an oversight.
