Instagram has launched a series of new features for Remixes that will allow users to improve the way they collaborate with their friends and make content with creators that they find interesting.
Remixes can now be used with both photos and videos
Remixes were launched in April 2021 as a copy of a very popular feature on TikTok and allow you to use content created by someone else to create your own from it.
The main novelties of the Instagram Remixes are the following:
-Remix for photos. Until now, Remixes could only be made with videos, but from now on the experience also reaches publications with photos. As Instagram has pointed out, users will be able to create a Reel by sharing a photograph that someone has uploaded publicly and, for example, comment on it, or imitate the posture that appears in it.
-Backgrounds and Extended Layouts: Now when creating a Remix you will be able to choose between new templates such as a green screen to make a chrome, horizontal and vertical split screens, “Picture in Picture” view… so that users can offer their comments on existing Reels more easily .
-Add a clip: Instead of having your Reel appear simultaneously with the original Reel unfolding, users will now also be able to add their comments to the end of the original Reel.
Along with these new features, Instagram also has templates that make it easy for users to create their Remixes. They can be found by clicking on the camera icon in the Reels tab. In addition, it is of course allowed to continue creating Remixes in Dual, recording the content and the user’s reaction at the same time. Both the front and rear cameras can be used in them.
It should also be remembered that from now on, on Instagram, any video that is less than 15 minutes will be converted into a Reel.
