Meta will close his app for couples

Meta is shutting down Tuned, one of the apps launched during the pandemic to facilitate communication between couples.

Just like when a service is shut down, Meta provides a tool for users to download their data and content uploaded to the app.

Meta is closing Tuned, its app for couples

Meta announced that it will close its app dedicated to couples, Tuned. This application was launched in 2020 as an experimental project as one more tool to help couples maintain communication during the pandemic. It was first released as an iOS app and later rolled out to Android users.

The dynamic was simple, it was only necessary for one of the two to register in the app with their phone number and then add their partner’s number. Once inside the app, the couple would see 3 timelines that divide the content into past, present and future.

In the app, the couple could share their mood, songs, notes, photos, songs, videos, among other content. So it was not only a messaging app, but it could also serve as a digital scrapbook or space to share content only with your partner.

And now Meta announces the end of the app, so it gives users the possibility to create a backup of the information they want to keep. Those who have content uploaded to the app will be able to download a copy before Meta permanently closes the service. To do this, they just have to go to the app, look for the Settings section and select the “Download my data” option.

All the photos and videos shared in the app will be downloaded in a .zip file, along with an HTML file with the rest of the activity history.
