Meet the iPhone function capable of identifying plants and flowers using the camera

When it comes to the iPhone, there are various tools that this mobile device has and with which users can carry out actions such as listening to music, taking photos, accessing social networks, surfing the Internet, sending text messages through messaging applications, make calls, among others.

However, it is likely that few people are aware of the existence of a function present in the iPhone capable of identifying plants and flowers just by taking a photo of them.

Although there are already third-party tools that fulfill this function, some are not entirely efficient. That is how Visual Look Upthe name with which the function has been called on iPhone, has been the latest novelty included in the iOS 15 version which offers the user the possibility of perform visual searches.

You will simply have to open a photo or screenshot within the application Photos and then click on the blue i icon which is located below.

If you notice the presence of a bright little flash around the icon, that would mean that iOS has detected some feature in the image that can be identified by machine learning.

Click on the Search option, so that the tracking of some useful information associated with the object or element captured in the photo begins.

It is worth mentioning that the Visual Look Up function not only acts on images that contain plants and flowers, but also with images in which they appear captured landmarks, pets, art, etc.

Although this function had been shown by Apple in the Last year’s WWDCthe company did not make a massive announcement with which iPhone users with iOS 15 were aware of the presence of it on their devices.

And it is that, it is strange that on the official support page of the Visual Look Up function a message is displayed in which it is indicated that it is available only for the United States, but in another section it mentions other regions where it can be used. In addition to the United States, the Visual Look Up feature is available in Australia, UK, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Mexico.
