thanks to one interview with Mark Gurman by Vadim Yuriev, today we have some interesting details about Apple Silicon and some Macs that Apple has in mind for launches. A surprising fact about the Mac Pro with M1 chip, Apple kept it due to the launch of the new M2 series.

What plans does Apple have with Macs and the M2 chip according to Mark Gurman?

Right now we have two Macs with the new M2 chip, the redesigned MacBook Air and the entry-level MacBook Pro. According to information from Gurman himself, the Mac Pro is in development and will be released soon with the M2 chip. Said product was already ready with a chip with the initial M series but due to the times and the release of the latest generation it was no longer possible to put it on the market.

Talking long-awaited redesigned Mac mini, Gurman isn’t holding out much hope since the Mac Studio has all that base and they could look alike. More than anything, changes to the specifications are expected. The Mac Studio could be thought of as two Mac minis on top.

An iMac Pro is coming with Apple Silicon

And to finish off the information, Mark Gurman indicates that Apple is planning the launch of an iMac Pro. However, we must wait longer than predicted since it will be until 2023. The project is active and could have a larger screen exceeding 24 inches of the current iMac with M1.

Taking information from his own Sunday newsletter, Power On, Gurman indicates that there will be new versions of the M2 chip for the Mac Pro. Specifically, it is the M2 Ultra and a new M2 Extreme chip.

The future is bright and the transition to Apple Silicon from Intel is almost complete. What do you think of these Gurman rumors?
