In your case, you would have to search if your motherboard has a BIOS update available that introduces support for AMD Vermeer processors, which are the Ryzen 5000. If your motherboard has received the corresponding update, congratulations, you can update the BIOS of your computer and mount a Ryzen 5000 processor. However, please note that if your motherboard does not have a powerful and well-cooled VRM you are likely to run into issues if you decide to install a Ryzen 9 5900X or Ryzen 9 5950X. By this I don’t mean that it won’t work, but rather that the VRM might struggle to power these processors, which ultimately can cause thermal throttling and stability issues.
