Google Pixel Watch, another detail emerges
Pixel Watch has a strange history. In a way, it can be said that we have known him better first for Google to unveil it during I / O 2022 last week. If Mountain View limited itself to giving us a taste of it by rotating the render, at the end of April we had already seen it live with images of the mysterious prototype abandoned in a restaurant.
As things currently stand, we know very little about the Pixel Watch in official ways – and on the other hand the only leaked rumors are not particularly exciting, and speak of a rather dated chip. Big G was keen to show us that the product exists, that it will arrive soon and that it will have a peculiar design, with the glass that covers the particularly curved and domed rounded case and a digital crown on the right side in Apple Watch style.
James Park, co-founder of Fitbit and now head of Google’s Wearable division, provided us with some more information, who in an interview clarified some aspects of the relationship between Google and Fitbit (purchased by Mountain View in 2019). starting with Pixel Watch, which is the product that will be the first to really relate these two realities that are still separate until now.
PIXEL WATCH WILL ALSO BE CELLULAR
And always on this occasion Park let slip another detail on the Pixel Watch. A feature that perhaps can be taken for granted: but the truth is that everything hangs in the balance until official confirmation arrives. We are talking about the fact that Pixel Watch will be available in version cellular:
“I think Pixel Watch is a suitable product for those who want LTE connectivity and advanced health and fitness features, but there will always be people for whom some of these features won’t necessarily matter. ”
The scenario, however, still remains to be clarified: at the moment we do not know if Google will launch only one version of the Pixel Watch, complete with the LTE module, or if it will adopt the most widespread approach on the market, that is to offer the possibility to choose between a cellular variant and another cheaper one with only Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
