Nothing Phone (1) will arrive in Italy via WindTre | Official
Nothing Phone (1) will arrive in Italy via WindTre: the press release is official. Pre-orders will begin on July 12thon the very day the device will be launched (event at 5pm Italian time!). WindTre specifies that its stores will be the only physical channel for purchasing of the first smartphone of the startup of former OnePlus number one Carl Pei. It is not perfectly clear how this announcement will reconcile with Pei’s claims a few days ago that the first units of the device would be sold via an invitation system. Says “Tommaso Vitali, B2C Marketing & New Business Director of WINDTRE:
We are happy to offer the exclusive opportunity to purchase phone (1) from our sales network, spread throughout the national territory. Nothing is bringing a breath of fresh air to the consumer tech sector and, with this collaboration, our company is even closer to customer needs thanks to innovative solutions capable of improving their daily activities.
It is worth remembering that Nothing Phone (1) will in fact be a medium-high-end Android smartphone, albeit with a decidedly particular and unique design. The specifications should be as follows:
- display: 6.55 “FHD + OLED, 90 Hz refresh rate, HDR10 +, flat screen
- SoC: Snapdragon 778G +
- memory: 8 + 128GB, 12 + 256GB
- connectivity: 5G
- user interface: NothingOS based on Android 12
- cameras:
- front: 32 MP
- rear:
- 50 MP main
- 8 MP, presumably ultra wide
- battery: 4,500mAh, 33 watt fast charge + wireless charging
Prices should be € 469 and € 549 for Europe, but we have no precise confirmations for Italy. We don’t even know which memory cuts will be available of the two planned.
