gboard, the Google keyboard, is one of the most used because it has extremely interesting options that make it a useful and practical tool. For example, Bitmoji can easily be used to make chats more fun and special. In addition to this, it has settings that are made to optimize writing, facilitating this process to a great extent.

Gboard’s settings give the user all the freedom they require to type comfortably.

Here we will tell you what are the best configurations so that you can make the most of the potential of Gboard. Best of all, having each option is a quick and easy task. It’s just a matter of following the directions to the letter.

– Reduce long press delay: it is recommended to reduce the delay so that the menu is enabled quickly. Log in to Gboard and go to “Settings” – “Preferences”. Scroll down and click on “Long press delay”. Adjust the delay as you like and finally select “OK”.

– Enable emoji key: if you use emojis frequently, it is best to have the shortcut. The good news is that you can activate a key dedicated only to emojis so that access to them is immediate. You just have to go to “Settings” – “Preferences” and activate “Show emoji toggle key”.

– Improve automatic correction: A notable advantage of Gboard is that it is able to learn the pattern of your writing to optimize corrections. So, enter the “Text Correction” menu. There you will modify what you want, such as “Show Suggestion Strip”, “Next Word Suggestions”, “AutoCorrect”, “Undo AutoCorrect on Backspace”, “Auto Capitalization” and “Double Space Period”.

– Facilitate sliding writing: there are two gears available that make a big difference. “Show Gesture Trail” – Creates a line that follows the movement of your finger across the keyboard, thus increasing typing accuracy. “Enable gesture deletion”: Makes it possible to delete one or more words just by swiping left from the “Delete” key.

– Add words to the personal dictionary: If you use words that the dictionary doesn’t recognize, it’s easy to append them to the dictionary to prevent it from marking them as errors. Go to “Settings” – “Dictionary” – “Personal dictionary” and choose your preferred language. In the upper corner, click on the “Add (+)” button, in the new screen that will open, place the term you want to add.

– Optimize the clipboard: here it is best to enable two important functions. “Show recently copied text and images in the suggestion bar”: When you copy a text or image, Gboard will enable a button for you to easily paste what you have selected. “Save Recent Screenshots to Clipboard” – Automatically, when you take a screenshot, it will be saved to the clipboard. Also, it will activate an option to paste it into the text field.
