Transparent mesh in AP mode
I used to be able to send pictures from the computer to the printer. But it is in the router WiFi and the devices in the mesh WiFi cannot find it. What now?
I bought the TP-Link Deco M4 Mesh in a set of three. The setup was simple, the WLAN is available, but one thing doesn’t work yet: I used to be able to send pictures directly to the printer from my computer or cell phone. But it’s still in the router’s WLAN and the devices in the mesh can’t find it. What can I do?
Switch the mesh system to access point mode, sometimes called bridge mode. Then it takes over the address range of the router and your WLAN clients can reach the printer again. In some mesh systems, the guest network is omitted. For optimal mesh operation, you should bring the printer into the mesh WLAN. Then you can turn off the router WiFi. This leaves more radio spectrum and transmission time free for the mesh.
