Smartwatch: Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro with titanium case in the test

Huawei’s smartwatch keeps a log of a lot of data and proves to be a sporty all-rounder in the test. We show what she can do.Titanium case, sapphire glass over the display and ceramic underside – Huawei has not skimped on precious materials with the Watch GT 3 Pro. The included rubber strap can’t keep up, it’s more functional than pretty. Due to the 22 millimeter wide standard mounts, the smartwatch is compatible with bracelets from other suppliers, and Huawei itself also has alternatives made of leather and stainless steel in its range. Our test model has a diameter of 46 millimeters; the Watch GT 3 Pro is alternatively available as a 43 millimeter version with a ceramic case.

Compared to the Watch 3 Pro without the GT addition (short test), the new watch has slimmed down a little, measuring 13 millimeters at the thickest point and thus more than three millimeters less. The case has become a little more delicate, but the Watch GT 3 Pro remains a big and thick watch that looks out of place on overly thin wrists. The slimming diet has mainly shrunk the battery, the capacity dropped from 790 to 530 mAh.

The watch lasts an average of five to six days if you wear it day and night, regularly tracking your heart rate, sleep and all other recordable data and occasionally doing sports with active GPS. Huawei promises up to eight days with intensive use and 14 days with “typical use”. Even if the Watch GT 3 Pro was empty more quickly in our test, the runtime is still very good for a smartwatch. Charging is done wirelessly via Qi. The magnetic charging cradle with USB-A cable should hold the watch more firmly, it slips off quickly.
