This Wednesday (24th), the Samsung announced 990 PRO SSDs based on the PCIe 4.0 interface and with speeds of up to 7450 MB/s. The South Korean brand also highlighted a Up to 55% gain in read and write performance over 980 PRO.
According to Samsung, the 990 PRO features sequential read and write speeds of up to 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s, respectively. The model has the following storage options: 1TB, 2TB and 4TB.
The SSD 990 PRO comes in M.2 2280 format and has up to 4 GB LPDDR4 DRAM. The component’s random read/write speed (QD32) is 1,400K and 1,550K IOPS for read and write, respectively.
The brand also highlighted that the performance boost comes from advances in the proprietary controller and V-NAND. The model offers a version with a heat sink to ensure resistance to higher temperatures, in addition to adding RGB lights.
Also according to Samsung, the SSDs of the line 990 PRO will be available worldwide from October this year. With this, it is also expected that the products reach the Europeian market. Check the suggested prices below:
