Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt, together in the series of “Godzilla”

Kurt and Wyatt Russell will share a new work adventure since they will be part of the cast of the new production of AppleTV+. Father and son will be the protagonists of this action, horror and science fiction story that the platform is preparing.

Accompanied by Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett Y Elisa Lasowski, the story will focus on a family’s journey to discover their secrets buried in the past. They have a dark bond related to Monarch. The series will be located after the events reported in Godzilla vs. kong and in Godzilla: the king of the monsters.

The series is framed in the monsterverse, which refers to the idea of ​​an extensive universe that recreates plots centered on humanity and its need to survive in the face of a catastrophe caused by legendary monsters that, far from being unreal, are part of our reality.

Father and son had already shared a cast in a couple of films like Escape from LA, Soldier and Goon: Last of the Enforcers, but it is the first time that they join to star in a series. Wyatt comes from reaping praise and good reviews for her participation in the productionss Under the Banner of Heaven (which can be seen at Star Plus), The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, The Good Lord Bird Y Lodge 49, among other. For Kurt it will be his return to the world of the series after having been part of the drama of NBC, TheQuest, in 1976.

The first two episodes of this epic proposal will be directed by Matthew Shakman (WandaVision), who in turn will serve as executive producer of the series. This task is also joined by the co-creators of the series Chris Black (Star Trek Enterprise) Y Matt Fraction (Hawk Eye).

This would not be the only derivation of the Monsterverse that we will have. From what we know so far, this universe will also extend in Netflix, that is going to release an anime series centered on Skull Island. It will be a production of the creators of Castlevania and of blood of zeus.
