Instagram will turn all videos under 15 minutes into Reels
The Instagram team shared a number of new features and updates to creating Reels.
And on the other hand, Instagram made its new strategy official to further promote this format within the platform: share the videos published in Reels.
Instagram announces news for the Reels
One of the goals for 2022 that Instagram announced was to promote Reels on the platform. And during the first quarter of the year we have seen several updates to improve the dynamics of this format and make it easier for users to create it.
Following this line, the Instagram team announced a series of news for the Reels. And one of the most important will change the dynamics that we know in the app. Starting in the next few weeks, videos under 15 minutes that you post to Instagram will be shared as Reels.
And by being shared in this format, it will also be recommended to other users and could even be used as a template, just like current Reels. Of course, this will happen if your account is public. If you have your Instagram account set to private, videos that meet the requirement will be shared as Reels, but will only be seen by your followers.
One detail to keep in mind is that this new dynamic will only apply to new videos that are published after the launch of this new dynamic, and it will not affect the videos that you have already published on Instagram.
On the other hand, Instagram has also announced new tools to create original Reels, such as the new dual function, which allows you to use the rear and front camera of the mobile. And it’s updating the Templates feature, so users can build their Reels from other creations and then customize them for a special touch.
And to make it easier to find all your video posts, Instagram will group the Videos tab and Reels will be grouped into a single section.
