Apple created a surprise at WWDC by announcing its new MacBook Air M2. The manufacturer has completely revised its copy to offer a brand new computer compared to the previous model. It thus enjoys a new design as well as an overpowered M2 processor.
Apple does not usually present new products at WWDC, a conference primarily dedicated to new software. However, the manufacturer broke the rule this year by announcing his brand new MacBook Air!
the Macbook Air M2 logically succeeds the MacBook Air of 2020, which was equipped with an M1 chip. Apple offers an all-new, all-angled design, which is a bit reminiscent of the old MacBook Pros. The Cupertino company is also betting a lot on ultra-mobility, since the computer does not only 11.3 mm thick for 900 grams. It is available in four colors: silver, grey, white and black.
Apple puts the Jack port back on its MacBook Air
Such finesse did not prevent Apple from returning a Jack port on one of the slices. In addition to this, there is a MagSafe port for our greatest pleasure. Two USB Type-C ports will be present in the adapter included in the box.

Regarding the screen, we have a 13.6-inch Retina panel. It has a 25% higher maximum brightness compared to the previous 2020 model (up to 500 nits). We notice the presence of a notch on the top of the screen. It is a webcam, of course, but this one has the particularity of being in 1080p, which is ideal for videoconferences. Regarding the keyboard, we find the Magic Keyboard, but also Key ID at the top right.
The biggest asset of this MacBook Air is obviously its M2 processor, which logically succeeds the M1. It is also more powerful up to 20%. This ARM SoC also has the advantage of not requiring fans, which explains the finesse of the design. Finally, for autonomy, Apple promises 18 hours of video playback battery as well as fast charging which allows you to gain 50% in 30 minutes.
The MacBook Air M2 is available at a fixed starting price at 1499 euros.
Note that Apple has also announced a new MacBook Pro model with the M2 processor, but this does not change from the previous version.
