Last year Xiaomi brought the fifth generation of Xiaomi Pad to the market, offering particularly interesting tablets especially as regards the base model of its offer, as we reiterated in our review (you can see it in the images of this article). As we approach the completion of the first half of 2022, the first rumors about it are starting to arrive the new Xiaomi Pad 6 series that the Chinese company is expected to bring to the market over the next few months; let’s take a look at the first leaks.
XIAOMI PAD 6: THE FAMILY GROWS
As reported by MyDriversXiaomi intends to significantly expand the Pad 6 family, proposing 4 models that are identified by serial numbers L81, L81A, L82 and L83. Three of these should actually concern as many Halls 6 – that is Xiaomi Pad 6, Pad 6 Pro and Pad 6 Pro 5G -, while the fourth could be distributed under the brand Redmi. By eye we would like to hypothesize that L81 and L81A are respectively the Xiaomi and Redmi versions of the same tablet, with some small technical differences that it is not yet possible to identify with precision.
In any case, several details were also shared regarding the alleged general technical data sheet of the Pad 6 series tablets, which should come to offer a respectable top configuration. For the more expensive variant – the Pad 6 Pro 5G – we are talking about a SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (not clear if it will be the basic one or the recent 8+), display 144Hz OLED LTPO and fast charging up to 120 W.

Xiaomi Pad 5 struggling with a challenging task!
As for the base model, however, the SoC chosen should be a MediaTek Dimensity 9000, a chip therefore of high end and able to guarantee excellent performances. There are no details regarding the other features, but it is possible to imagine that the main diversification elements will center around the display and the charging speed, at least from our point of view. The latter could be positioned on the 60-80 W for less expensive models, while the display may be a unit 120 Hz IPS (as on Pad 5) at least for the basic model.
The new tablets are expected to be marketed in the course of third quarter 2022, so let’s talk about a summer release that will happen in a short time. At this point we just have to wait for official confirmation from Xiaomi or the appearance of the first renderings dedicated to the new tablets.
