Though developers can already install beta versions of the presented software It will not be until autumn when end users will be able to install the final and operational versions of the software now revealed on their devices. Therefore, now the news of iOS 16 is revealed, but we will have to wait a few months to be able to use it on the iPhone.
Some of these iOS 16 news are:
-New lock screen: The greatest customization of the lock screen in the entire history of iOS occurs, being able to change color and font or add widgets and even create different “themes” that can be saved in a gallery so that they can be selected at any time according to the needs and the features assigned to each “theme” as a lock screen.
-Notifications with more information: Now the notifications will be able to offer more information that, in addition, can be dynamic. In this way, it will be possible to know in real time how much is left until an order placed through a platform arrives at home through the notification itself.
-Improvements in dictation: Now, among other improvements, the tool that converts what is dictated to the iPhone into written text is capable of automatically detecting where to include punctuation marks. It also recognizes when a word refers to an emoji to automatically include it in the typed text.
-Improvements in Messages (iMessage): Apple’s instant messaging platform adds the ability to edit and even delete messages that have already been sent, adding an indication that it has been edited.
-Live Text extends its functions to video: The Apple version of the Google Lens tool, capable of recognizing text from an image, allowing it to be copied to another document or application, is now also capable of working on video content on iOS. It will be enough to pause the reproduction of a video so that, if text appears in it, it can be captured after clicking on the Live Text icon. In addition, this tool is now also capable of copying part of an image, isolating it from the rest, to later paste it into another application having removed the background.
What’s new in iPad OS 16
In addition, Apple has also presented iPad OS 16, a new update of the iOS variant that has been broken since 2011 to adapt to the specific requirements of the Apple tablet. Some of its most outstanding novelties are:
-New interface: The look seems to be getting closer and closer to macOS, Apple’s operating system for its desktops and laptops. Something in which progress had already been made with the previous version of the operating system, among other aspects thanks to the evolution of widgets.
-Multitask: It is where iPad OS has evolved the most, with the possibility of customizing the size and position of the windows of the open apps, as well as the total number of these that can be operative at the same time, along with the option of, when connecting a monitor external, combine what is shown on this and on the iPad.
-Resizable windows: As in desktop operating systems, now multitasking and the possibility of working on several apps at the same time in different windows open at the same time, all of this already existing on the iPad, evolves so that the windows can be resized freely .
-StageManager: It is an evolution of the aforementioned freedom to resize screens that now makes it possible to do it with external screens. In this way, the limitation is eliminated, when connecting an iPad to a monitor, that the screen of the tablet was simply duplicated on it. The monitor now acts as a secondary display, allowing up to 8 apps to be open at the same time, split between the iPad and an external monitor.
