At the Display Week 2022 conference, Samsung Display introduced the world’s first OLED panel for laptops with a 240Hz refresh rate, and a first model has already taken advantage of it.
While smartphones still do not have OLED screens with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, Samsung Display has just presented a new OLED panel for laptops with such a frequency at Display Week 2022. So we are far from 90 Hz of the current OLED panels from the Korean manufacturer. In addition to offering an extraordinary frequency, Samsung’s new screen has other interesting characteristics.
We find for example the coverage of a wide range of colors and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards. As a reminder, Dolby Vision is a technology used by Netflix or even Disney+ improving the quality of the image, but this is not supported by any Samsung devicestill reluctant to adopt it, even though it uses panels provided by Samsung Display. The brightness is quite low since it is limited to 400 nitsbut the high contrast should still allow the panel to offer good visibility in all conditions.

The Razer Blade 15 is the first computer with a 240Hz OLED display
Earlier this month, Razer lifted the lid on a new generation of 15-inch Blade, its premium laptop series. The company had introduced the new generation of the 2022 Blade 15 laptop as the first in the world to be equipped witha 15.6-inch OLED screen with a definition of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hzand we now imagine that it is the famous screen that Samsung has unveiled.
