It seems that Google is working to equip Wear OS 6the next version of your wrist operating system, of a “new” functionality designed for the use under water (in the pool) of the smartwatches.
This function, which seems destined to arrive on the pixels Watch, is called Water Lock And it is already present on many other smartwatchs of the green robot (and not), where it is concerned with disabled the touchscreen to avoid strange behavior and unwanted touches on the smartwatch.

Wear OS 6: another possible news emerges
With the next version, Wear OS will receive a profound aesthetic renewal in sauce Material 3 Expressive But also a good dose of new features, including a really functional Always-on display.
A functionality that is missing from the Pulse operating system of the Mountain View giant (and therefore on the pixels Watch) but which is implemented by third -party producers of Android smartwatch (such as Samsung) is the dedicated mode for the “underwater” use of the device, a useful feature considering that smartwatch (especially the best) are waterproof.
Many smartwatches, such as the Galaxy Watch (or Apple Apple Watch), include a mode called Water Lock which is often combined with a water expulsion functionality (it emits a specific sound that “pushes out” the water from the speaker) which is automatically activated when the user disabled the Water Lock.

Pixels Watch will also have the function Water Lock
Analyzing the Wear OS 6 Developer Preview, the well -known Insider Mishaal Rahman has identified some strings of code that refer to the addition of a new box for the rapid controls of the settings called Water Lock (via Android Authority).

Turn on Water Lock?
These strings do not explain in detail the functionality of this functionality. It will probably work on the Watch pixels like how the similar mode works on other wear OS smartwatch, that is, going to disable the touchscreen to prevent water sketches from producing accidental touches.
The Insider also noted that, in the identified strings, reference is not made to any functionality for the expulsion of water: on the basis of this, it suggests that without this implementation it could be an identical function to the already present Touch lockrenamed to be clearer to users.
Two other aspects must then be considered: the first is that the presence of these strings in the Developer Preview do not guarantee that functionality can also be maintained in the final release of Wear OS 6. The second is that it is not said that the development team does not have the development of functionality for the expulsion of water in the pipeline.
Wear OS 6 will debut later during the year: only then, or with the next preview versions, perhaps when they will also be made available for smartwatches and not only on the emulator, we will understand if Water Lock It will arrive seriously.
