A few days after the announcement on the home market, vivo has made the version official Global Of OriginOS 6the new version of the proprietary interface based on Android 16 which will replace the “old” Funtouch OS outside of China.
The main goal of the Chinese manufacturer is to provide an operating system that is globally valid and can redefine human-machine interaction in the era of artificial intelligence.

After years of difference in treatment between the home market, with OriginOS, and the global market, with Funtouch OS, vivo aims to bring the entire community togetherlaunching on a global scale OriginOS 6.
This move is crucial for the Chinese manufacturer which recently took fourth place in the global smartphone sales ranking (IDC data, Q2 2025) and wants to continue creating products and user experiences that reflect everyday needs.
Password: fluidity
As we already had the opportunity to say on the occasion of the Chinese launch, OriginOS 6 revolves around the word fluidityseen as a “standard of excellence” to be pursued by vivo. This is made possible thanks to the new Origin Smooth Enginea component that synchronizes the main modules of the system (computing, storage, display) to make everything appear fluid, convey the sensation of fluidity and maintain the same fluidity over time.
The peculiarities of the user interface in improving the user experience include:

As anticipated, one of vivo’s objectives is to ensure that fluidity is constant over time and this will not be a problem, considering that OriginOS he got the SGS certification for long-term sustained fluiditywith simulations suggesting excellent levels of fluidity even after five years.
The design is inspired by nature but closely resembles iOS 26
From an aesthetic point of view, there are those who criticized and those who appreciated vivo’s choice: OriginOS 6for better or worse, closely resembles iOS 26 and the Liquid Glass introduced by Apple. The Chinese manufacturer claims that the new design is inspired by nature and helps make digital life more intuitive, fluid and pleasant.
All the elements that make up the user interface are harmonized from the system Origin Designwhile the new font I live Sans offers well-balanced characters and consistency across any screen. We then find Dynamic Glow And Translucent Coloreffects that take light to illuminate any element and give effects of depth and vitality to interactions with any app.
Your lock screen comes to life and becomes more customizable thanks to Lock Screen Grida feature that allows you to organize and resize widgets, customize fonts and combine photos. Home Screen Grid does something similar for the home screen: it offers various layouts for the app grid (up to 4×7), adaptive folders and Flip Cards (an element that brings everyday photos to life with dynamic effects that vary as the inclination of the device varies).
OriginOS 6 focuses heavily on AI but there is not only the vivo AI suite

OriginOS 6 availability
The latest devices presented by the Chinese manufacturer, namely vivo X300 And X300 Prothey will be the first to be able to count on OriginOS 6 (as of November 2025).
The new version of the customized interface, whose dedicated portal is already online also in Italy, will then be distributed gradually, on a global scale, at the end of a beta program which will be intended for a selected number of models.
We do not have more precise details on which models are involved in this beta program, nor on when the supported devices will receive the update but it is certain that OriginOS 6 will arrive as a follow-up update to Funtouch OS 15.
The release plans are definitely clearer when it comes to the home market, where the members of the range vivo X200 they will be updated by the end of November.
