Two UI for incoming calls and expressive design: it is a revolution for Google Telephone

Apparently (via Android Authority), the development team is testing two interfaces to answer calls and could give users the opportunity to choose between the two, however eliminating the current interface.

There first version provides that the incoming calls screen shows Two buttons: on the left the button to refuse the call, on the right to answer the call. The following image gallery shows what should be the appearance of this interface, similar to the one that proposes the Iphone’s phone app or, although to inverted buttons, to the one that offers the telephone app on Samsung smartphones.

There second versionon the other hand, is what we had already told you about last March, characterized by horizontal swipe: to the right to answer and to the left to refuse the call. The “button” (with the croissant icon) which we will have to slide, oval in shape, will be inserted inside a horizontal bar in the shape of a pill. Before starting the scrolling gesture, we will be able to note animations: the icon of the “Vibra” handset; The horizontal bar will have a sort of breath effect (it portrays and contracts), and the writings “refuses” and “accepts” change color from red/green typical to black (or white, in case of dark theme). As anticipated, it seems that Google is working to give users the way to choose between these two interfaces. In both cases, users who usually use Google Telephone will have to “re -educate” muscle memory. On the other hand, the first version of the response interface (the two buttons) could do the case of iPhone users who decide to switch to Android.

The hope is that, in addition to these two interfaces, Google decides to maintain what we all know: on the other hand, if the possibility to choose is offered, what difference does it make whether there are two or three options? Among other things, everything would be ready.

In the screen with the incoming call, we can see the name of the much more “larger” contact than today, the disappearance of the wording “Call from”the button to send a larger message and inserted inside an oval pill, the photo of the contact inserted within a geometric shape that “rotates” around the photo itself of the contact.

By responding to the call, however, we note that the button to hang up becomes a much larger oval pill. The buttons (keypad, silent, speakerphone, other) also become oval pills but, like the boxes of the center of rapid commands, change shape when they are “active”.
