Google has recently launched the release of a new update for the Pixel camera, the camera app which, as the name says, is exclusive to smartphones Made by Google of the Pixel series.
Let’s discover the details of this new update, which comes to about two monthly compared to the previous update and, instead of bringing with it (at least for the moment) the novelty announced with the latest Pixel Drop, removes a sharing feature.
Google updates the Pixel camera
As anticipated at the opening, Google returns to update the Pixel camera that takes a step forward, reaching the new version 9.9.106.767010485.16 (replaces the previous 9.8.102 which had brought a novelty for astrophotography and, with a minor update, a 9A pixel bug resolved).
The new version of the app does not seem to bring with them great news. Indeed, compared to the previous version, it “loses” the function Sharing on social networks (as shown by the following image) which allowed to share a photograph immediately after the shot on social media (or via Quick Share). It is not clear whether it is a bug or a conscious choice.
The novelty of the app that Google has announced as part of the Pixel Drop of June 2025: in fact, an icon with a “?” should soon be added? ” which allows you to access a hub with suggestions which aims to help users to discover more on integrated features in the app through visual examples and clearer indications.
It is very likely that, as often happens for the functionality of Pixel Dropalso in this case the rollout takes place on the server side, with the updated version of the app useful only to implement compatibility with this function.

The new version 9.9.106.767010485.16 app Pixel camera It is under the gradual release phase through the Google Play Store on all supported pixels that perform Android 16 (i.e. from Google Pixel 6 onwards): to check your availability on your device, just take a tap on the underlying badge and, possibly, select “Update”.
