Google has come up with a new update for Google Soundsthe app that governs the system ringtones of Pixel smartphones.

While the version of the app does not change compared to the previous update, the new version brings significant changes to the user interface and introduces new ringtones.

Google Sounds is updated with many new features

Just over two months have passed since the release of version 3.3 of Google Sounds, a very important version because it brought with it a new user interface in sauce Material 3 Expressive.

The development team has started the (gradual) rollout of a new update for the app which remains at version 3.3: however, the build number changes which, from the previous 767017003, goes to new 825845788.

With this new build we see further changes to the user interface: all the sound collections, until now presented with gradient color icons, now feature icons enriched with geometric patterns that reflect the dynamic colors set on the device.

In addition to this change of direction in the user interface, the development team has also added new ringtones for alarms, notifications and calls that follow the same theme: nature sounds from the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido.

New sounds (18 in total) have been added to the collection Sounds of nature. From the following list you can also listen to the sound (via Android Authority):

Google Sounds v3.3 (825845788) - new UI

There version 3.3 (825845788) of the app Google Sounds is currently rolling out gradually to all Pixel users; especially considering that the APK files are only available in English online, it could take weeks before it reaches all users.

How to update the app on Pixel smartphones

The app Google Sounds it is pre-installed on smartphones from the Pixel range (the only ones with which it is compatible) and can be updated through the Google Play Store: to do so, simply tap on the badge below and, if an update is available, select “Update”.
