Motorola Edge 70 is official (seven days ahead of schedule)
November 5, 2025 will be the time for formalities but already today, a week early, Motorola Edge 70 can be considered official in all respects. Motorola follows the trend of the moment (not as well received as expected by the public), offering a smartphone from thickness less than 6 mm and weighing just 159 gramsa symptom of extreme lightness.
Despite the thickness contained in 5.99mm and feather weight, Motorola has exploited the benefits of silicon-carbon technology to integrate a battery from 4,800 mAhmuch higher than the 3,900 mAh one integrated into the competitor Più fierce among the super thin Android smartphones, namely Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Motorola Edge 70 It offers a battery life of almost 50 hours and supports TurboPower wired charging 68W (15 minutes are enough to obtain several hours of battery life) wireless charging a 15W.
Going further, we are faced with a device made of aeronautical grade aluminium, with a Gorilla Glass 7i glass front and a back with a nylon-inspired silicone finish. There is no shortage of IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H certifications, symptoms of a smartphone made to last over time.
From an aesthetic point of view, it is immediate to associate Motorola Edge 70 to a smartphone from the Motorola Edge range, even if the curves become decidedly fewer and remain almost entirely concentrated on the side frame (not ingot-like like the competition but still rounded) and on the back.
Speaking of the rear, the island that houses the photographic compartment has been revised compared to the previous generation Motorola Edge 60 model and all the other Motorola models launched in the last period: there is no longer a protruding part but one connected to the body; now we have a real square plate that protrudes as a block and from which the sensors and the LED flash then protrude individually, surrounded by colored rings that vary depending on the color, obviously taken from the catalog PANTONE.
The photographic sector is triple only on paper, given that the third sensor is a 3-in-1 light sensor. There are useful sensors and they are also of good quality, at least on paper: we have a main sensor (24 mm equivalent) 50 megapixels and an ultra-wide-angle sensor (12mm equivalent) from 50 megapixels. The telephoto lens is disappearing, it’s true, but it’s a choice in line with that made by competitors on their super-thin smartphones (even the iPhone Air also gives up the ultra-wide angle).
Moving to the front, we instead find a front camera 50 megapixels which is set inside a circular and centered hole. This is the only interruption present on the display (which hides an optical fingerprint reader): surrounded by thin and (practically) symmetrical frames, we have a P-OLED panel from 6.67 inches with resolution 1,220 x 2,712 pixelsrefresh rate up to 120Hzpeak brightness a 4,500 nits and SGS certifications for blue light reduction and motion blur reduction.
The beating heart of Motorola Edge 70 is the SoC Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 by Qualcomm, a decidedly more performing solution (and friendly to AI functions) compared to the Dimensity 7300 by MediaTek that we find on the direct predecessor. Next to the SoC we then find 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage space and a super complete connectivity compartment.
The Android 16 operating system closes the package with the promise of software support for four years (potentially it will reach Android 20). The system is enriched by the usual customizations, useful and not too flashy, implemented by Motorola and by the artificial intelligence features of the suite Moto AI. Furthermore, we find the integration of Circle and Google Search and Gemini.
