How to take advantage of Gemini in Home in the Google Home App: here are the useful info

For access the programit is not necessary to download a particular version of the app or access a beta program from Google Play Store: enough, in fact, will request an invitation within the app (Settings> Public preview) and wait for it to be accepted (the user will be notified through a notification).

When will Gemini arrive in Home?

In the last sentence of the previous chapter we used the future not surprisingly: the app, in fact, warns us of the fact that Gemini in Home will be available shortly. By consulting the Nest Community blog post mentioned at the opening, you can get more precise details on the timing of this implementation.

The features of Gemini in Home will come implemented initially through an early access program (not to be confused with the program Public preview to which we referred before).

This program is already available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Ireland. Next week, it will be extended to many European countries (and not), among which Italy is back.

To register for early access programsimply open the Google Home app (version 4.0 and subsequent), access the app settings, make a tap on “Early access” (or “Early Access”we don’t know if it will be translated into Italian immediately).

Google Home Premium: how does it work and what is the subscription for?

During the announcement of Gemini for HomeGoogle also announced i New Google Home Premium subscription plans which replace the “old” plans Nest Awarefocused on video cameras, to include “the whole house” and offer a wider number of advanced features.

Functionality like Ask Home And the possibility of exploiting Gemini as assistant to control the devices will be “exempt” from the subscription, proposed on two levels. Here are the additional prices and features that unlock:

• Standard – 10 euros/month or 100 euros/year – Free for subscribers to the Google Plan Ai Pro – Includes Gemini Live, Ask Home30 days of video chronology and smart warnings from video cameras
• Advanced – 18 euros/month or 180 euros/year – Free for subscribers to the Google Plan Ai Ultra – includes all the features of the standard plan and adds the new features of Gemini for video cameras, the summary with Home Brief and the video chronology searchable via Ask Home.

In case you are subscribed to one of the plans Google Ai Pro or Google Ai Ultra By Google One, by accessing the Google Home app you will immediately be unrelated into the configuration process of the subscription plan for the house (you can proceed with the configuration or choose “not now” to do it later).

Proceeding with the configuration, we will be asked to choose a house (press “Next” implies that we accept i Terms of Nest service); After a short wait, in which the app will verify the availability of devices compatible with the advanced functions that unlocks the subscription, we will be informed that the subscription has been applied and we can then manage it through the section “Subscriptions” Among the app settings.
