Those who buy a Samsung smartphone or tablet often do so not only for the technical equipment or design but also for the software support that the Korean giant is able to guarantee to users, with constant updates and exclusive features.

At the moment Samsung developers are busy optimizing One UI 8.5the version of the interface that will be launched by the manufacturer next year with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

New details on One UI 8.5

According to what also emerges from the latest build of One UI 8.5 leakedwith this version of the interface the notification summaries and functions of prioritization.

Notification summaries will be supported in English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese.

Furthermore, notification summaries will be generated based on the notification history of the last 24 hours and, in order to guarantee user privacy, they are likely to be processed locally on the device, without sending the information to a cloud server. This means that such a feature would require hardware powerful enough to run AI models on the device and, therefore, may not be available on flagship devices older than the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

Furthermore, it is likely that Samsung will limit new features to supported languages (the one set as default) and that One UI 8.5 will give priority to notifications from favorite contacts.

Finally, clues relating to an AI scam detection feature were found in the One UI 8.5 code:

Suspicious voice detection
Using KT AI technology, it analyzes the caller’s voice during a call and warns you if it sounds similar to a potentially fraudulent or altered voice.

The acronym KT brings to mind Korean Telecom, an operator which could in a first phase have a sort of exclusivity for this functionality. We’ll see.
