Happy tenth birthday Google Photo
Is the tenth anniversary of Google Photos, a service that is used monthly by over one and a half billion people and that can boast more than 9 trillions of archived photos and videos.
Ten years ago, we introduced Google Photo as a platform for photos and videos. Since then, we have added many features that make it much more than this: artificial intelligence tools help you find the specific photo that you are looking for instantly; The modification options allow you to give life to your photos; And the new sharing features make it easier than ever to stay in touch.
To celebrate this goal, as anticipated at the opening, Google has announced two news for the app and shared some suggestions on how to make the most of some of the features already available.

Redested photo editor
The most interesting novelty announced by Google on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Google Photo is theRedested photo editorfeatures that will be distributed starting from June on Android devices and by the end of the year on iOS devices.
The redesign provides primarily that all the modification tools, both those based on artificial intelligence and more “standard”, have been brought together in one place: just view a photo and make a tap on “Change”To start.
By touching the subject, the background or any other part of the photo, the editor will provide suggestions designed to improve that specific area of the photo. These are added to the “manual” changes that can continue to make the user.
Making a tap on “Ai Enhance” (probably “Ia improvements” in Italian), you access the suggestions based on artificial intelligence that will analyze the photo to identify which changes to make in terms of tone and color, cancellation of unwanted objects/subjects, blur, light, application of a bokeh effect and much more.
Among the available tools there are some that were initially exclusive to the Google Pixel 9 through the Magic Editor: the tools in question are King (allows you to modify a part of a shot through a prompt) e Autoframe (allows you to expand a photo to the desired size, with automatic filling generated by the AI).
Album sharing via QR code
Another novelty announced by Google on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the service, this time Already in Rollout for all Android usersconcerns the possibility of sharing photographic albums much faster than in the past.
When we enter an album (Collections> Album> Namealbum) and select the button to share, in the sharing sheet we can the button “Show QR code”. By creating the sharing link of an album, in fact, the app will also automatically create an QR code that can be scanned for access to the shared album, to which the guests can also add new photos (if allowed by the “owner” of the album).
Other tools and tricks of the app: Big G’s suggestions
In addition to these two news, Google has brought up many other features that characterize the user experience in Google Photo: from the section Places card Collections (shows a map with the photos taken place by place), to the improved internal research, come on Memories/moments To the collages of photos and videos, from the albums shared to the personalization of the photo grid and much more.
