HONOR presents its two most anticipated new smartphones in China: these are HONOR Magic8 And HONOR Magic8 Prowhich were revealed during today’s event, along with other new features. After weeks of previews and rumors, the time has finally come to find out all the official details from the Magic8 series: are you ready?
HONOR Magic8 and Magic8 Pro are official in China: here are specifications and features
HONOR unveils its new flagship smartphones in China, already partially anticipated by the rumors and indiscretions of recent weeks. The two new models make up the HONOR Magic8 series and according to the manufacturer’s words they are the first smartphones equipped with “artificial intelligence capable of evolving autonomously“.The series is based on three fundamental pillars, which concern hardware performance, interaction with the system and ecosystem.
The improved YOYO assistant boasts even more advanced AI capabilities: it can handle daily tasks (“Find all my screenshots and delete the blurry ones“), manage more complex tasks (“Summarize this week’s work expenses and email them to my manager“) and can automatically complete a series of operations, freeing users from manual and repetitive actions. Smartphones have a special button dedicated to AI (which can however be customized for other tasks) and can count on significant progress in terms of photography, also thanks to artificial intelligence.
Smartphones have different points in commonincluding the heart, constituted by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoCpart of the photographic sector and beyond. Alongside Qualcomm’s flagship chipset we find 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256, 512 GB or 1 TB of internal memory, depending on the configurations (four for each model). There are no changes even in terms of connectivity, between 5G dual SIM, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port, and on the certification side (IP68, IP69 and IP69K).
The first changes can be seen in display: in both cases we have an LTPO OLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution with variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and peak brightness up to 6000 nits, but the diagonal changes; Magic8 is more compact with its 6.58 incheswhile Magic8 Pro comes in 6.71 inches.
Both smartphones have a triple camera rear with functionality AIMAGEbut the only sensor in common is the ultra-wide-angle one (50 MP, with 122° FoV and ideal for macros up to 2.5 cm). HONOR Magic8 Pro offers a 50 MP main sensor and 1/1.3″with 2.4μm pixels and f/1.6 aperture, alongside a 200MP telephoto lens with 1/1.4″ sensor and 3.7x optical zoom. HONOR Magic8 it always reaches 50 MP, but with a sensor from 1/1.56″ with 2.0μm pixels, alongside a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. There are also differences on the front, as can be seen by taking a look at the screens: only the Pro model can in fact count on the sensor for 3D unlockwhich is made room through a larger, oval-shaped hole.
Both smartphones offer a huge batterybut the Pro model goes further: there are for Magic8 7000mAhwith support for wired fast charging from 90W and wireless charging from 80Wwhile for Magic8 Pro they are even there 7200mAhwith support for wired fast charging from 120W and wireless charging from 80W.

The HONOR Magic8 series arrives on the market with Android 16 And MagicOS 10.0: in addition to the AI functions already mentioned above, the manufacturer provides an AI function for eye protection, collaboration functions for connecting to Apple devices, functions to block unwanted calls and identify face-swaps and scam attempts and more. More details at the software level will arrive with the presentation of the series dedicated to the global market.
