Google Photos awaits two news
Google recently launched the release of the version 7.45 Of Google Photo, a version that so far does not seem to have brought tangible novelties to users but, as you have understood now, many innovations are conveyed by Google Server side.
This version of the app is however important because it hides two news in the processing of the development team, found by the usual Assembradebug during the in -depth analysis of the corresponding apk package.
New wave of Material 3 Expressive arriving in the app
The expressive revolution for the Google apps continues and also Google Photo It is part of those already revised, at least in part. At the opening we mentioned the news in this sense that they have already been implemented but in the future there should be room for other changes (via Android Authority).
Specifically they should change parts of the user interface concerning the album. The first modification will invest the cover Albums, ready to extend to the “exploit” area also occupied by the status bar and the look with a more nice font for the title of the album itself, moved to the center and proposed immediately above the range of photos of the photos included in the album. The first image of the following gallery shows the current situation, while the other two are examples of the awaited interface.
The “back” and “other” buttons will also be enclosed within circular icons. Speaking of the “Other” menu, making a tap on the three balls now the menu will open downwards (it will not overlap with the button itself).
You will probably have noticed that the buttons present so far in the upper part (Transmit And Sort method Among others) they were relocated within the “Other” menu. Next to the button with the three dots there is only the “Play” button to activate the style view Stories/memory of the photos present and the videos present on the album.
We do not know if and when these aesthetic news will be implemented within Google Photos: often the development team carries on tests and then completely changed her mind first; Other times, however, what is previewed is then ends up being distributed. Internal research could receive a welcome improvement
In addition to the aesthetic changes, Google Photos should soon receive a welcome improvement in the internal research functionality for which the development team has been working for some time to overcome a current limit of functionality itself (via Android Authority).
Specifically, the “search” card of the app should soon allow you to find the images that other users have shared with us but that are not part of those saved on our account directly. The first evidences were included in the code 7.31 of the app (distributed in June 2025):

These strings only suggested that on Google photos we would soon be able to look for photos of people, animals and much more, including photos shared with us. With version 7.39 of the app (distributed in early August 2025), a filter was added to the code to allow users to include or exclude photos shared by other users (a sort of anti-Spam measurement):

Since then, a filter has never been added that allows you to seek exclusively among the photos shared with us. With the most recent version 7.45, however, the well -known Insider managed to activate the information sheet linked to the shared code strings just above (those extrapolated from version 7.31), a sign of the fact that the development proceeds sent.
This enhancement for the internal research functionality in Google Photo is not yet available since, as anticipated, it is still being developed. It is not clear when it can be implemented through official paths but it will surely pass some time, especially if we consider that currently it is not yet operational.
