Google Translator: new changes to the UI coming soon

Google is preparing many innovations enhanced by artificial intelligence that will revolutionize the user experience on Google Translator, adding new functions such as the conversational mode enhanced by Gemini and the “exercise” mode that we have already seen many details.

In the last few hours, new details related to mode have emerged Exercise and the various artificial intelligence functions, found by the usual Assembradebug during the analysis of the version 9.15.114 translation app (via Android Authority).

In the first instance, the user interface will be revised, adding new buttons, reducing others and relocating others still: compared to the current arrangement, under the languages of languages to/in which to translate we will find the buttons Real -time translation (he will take the place of Conversation), Camera (will be moved to the center, replacing the button with the microphone) and Exercise.

In the lower part of the operational screen, or immediately above the languages of the languages, a new row of buttons will be added that will contain the button Paste (so far available at the top left), the button Handwriting (so far available at the top right) and the button Microphone (which will no longer be at the bottom, in the center, and larger than the others).

There is also room for the text translation models selector

Another novelty is represented by a selector who was immediately added under the writing Google Translator present at the top (in the center) in the main screen of the app.

This selector allows you to choose the text translation model Between two options available: Fast (optimized for speed and efficiency) e Advanced (specialized in precision by exploiting Gemini).

The latter seems to be the one used in the mode Exercise And, as we saw a few days ago, it only supports English/Spanish, Spanish/English, English/French and French/English translations.

It is not clear when these changes will be made available to users also because, at present, Google has not yet made announcements. One possibility is that something is revealed in a few days, at the time of the launch of the Google Pixel 10. We will see.
