The app of YouTube Musicthe version of YouTube dedicated to music and podcast, is making available to all users a new tool linked to the podcasts that was present in the old Podcast house by Google, or Google Podcast.
At the same time, it seems that the development team is carrying out various tests to make available to users a method to discover new music based on their listening chronology.

“Cut parts of silence” will make podcast lovers happy
In 2024, Google Podcast closed its doors and was replaced by YouTube Music, facilitating the “migration” by users who, despite having found many new (and useful) instruments compared to the past, seemed to be some “family” users offered by the old platform.
Among these functions, the possibility of Remove the parts of silence from podcasts. After more than a year of waiting, with annexed works behind the scenes that emerged already in March 2024, the development team is finally implementing the functionality on YouTube Music, with the aim of putting a “missing piece” back in place.

Some users have received a new way to discover music
A user on Reddit shared some screenshots showing an unprecedented YouTube Music function, called Your Daily Discovery (your daily discovery), proposed somewhere in the Home of the app.
In a nutshell, Your Daily Discovery Show suggestions for specific songs instead of entire playlists and, in the lower part of the cover image, also explains the reason for the presence of a certain suggestion. Next to the name of the function, which is presented in the form of a horizontal scrolling carousel, the button is present “Play everyone” which combines all the tracks proposed in a playlist.
The main objective of this novelty is to make users discover new artists (and their music) based on their listening habits; It goes a little in contrast to the similar functionality offered by Spotify which focuses mainly on known artists.
YouTube Music already offers (at least to some users) another mode of discovery of the new songs within a playlist: in the section Mixtape for you (available somewhere in the Home tab), the Mix to discover (said Discovery mix in English); It is a playlist that contains selected music on purpose for the user and that is updated every Wednesday.
Both useful features to discover new music based on our listening habits seem to be linked to Google A/B tests: you may therefore have one of the two or even have no one. It is not clear when the Rollout will be extended to everyone.
How to download or update the YouTube Music app
To download or update the App of YouTube Music For Android devices, it will be sufficient to reach the app on the Google Play Store app through the underlying badge and then install it (via the button “Install”) or, possibly, update it (via the button “Update” if the presence of an update was reported).
