At the beginning of March the first rumors emerged on a new development feature that would allow us to consult Gemini Even just by selecting text on an Android device.

In the last few hours it seems that Google has started the rollout of this functionality which further enriches the assistant based on artificial intelligence, more and more at the center of the projects of the Mountain View giant.

Gemini: the rollout of a new functionality starts

Google wants to make Gemini more and contextual and contextual, allowing users (in possession of an Android device) to call it from any screen and in any way: the last addition is, as anticipated at the opening, the Possibility to consult the assistant by selecting the text.

In a nutshell, once this feature is received, users will simply have to select text, for example from an open website on the web browser (such as Google Chrome) or other compatible apps, to ask the assistant information about it through the new option “Ask Gemini”.

As you can observe from the following video, this option will be added to the other menu, the one to which you access via the three vertical balls in the text selection toolbar (the one with “Copy”, “Share” and “Select everything” between the options).

According to what is spread through your own profile on x by the usual Assembradebugthe rollout of this feature seems to have started even if “slowly” (it should not be a large -scale implementation and there is probably also a component to be “unlock” server side): our advice is to check, however, that the most recent versions of the Gemini apps and Google apps are installed on your smartphone.
