Quite interesting information has been known that has to do with the WhatsApp messaging application. This has to do with the backup that is automatically made in the Google Drive cloud storage service. We tell you what exactly the company that is owned by Meta is preparing. For a long time, WhatsApp has offered the possibility of saving chat information that is saved in the cloud. This means that when you change terminals or restart the one you have, you don’t lose everything by installing the app we’re talking about again. It is an excellent idea that works quite well, but it is true that apart from this task there are no more additional possibilities… despite the fact that it is the user’s own data. In this way, even if you enter Google Drive, you cannot access the information that is in the backup of the messaging application (either to save it in another place if you wish or to search for an image or video that they have shared with you). And, it seems, this is going to change… not radically, but it is true that it is a good step. What change is WhatsApp preparing As you can see in the image that we leave after this paragraph, it will be allowed from the application itself to export the backup that you have (to the site that you decide, so you can be sure that you have saved everything you need on a specific date). And, even, it is also seen to offer the possibility of importing a backup that you have -and not the one that is stored in Drive-. This also implies changes in the initial process when installing the app, since you will be able to access the data file that you think is convenient. With this decision, you will be able to choose the messages that are restored because if you have a copy from 10 days ago, it can be the one chosen to restore it (and thus obviate what has happened later). Greater control, which will even exist in the size of the backup, something that many do not take into account and that is sometimes excessively large… and, beware, it has long been speculated that WhatsApp plans to restrict the maximum size this. The fact is that users are given greater control, and this is very positive. This function is in the testing phase At the moment, this is something that is not present in the test version in general, but some users already have the functionality active to check that it works properly. This means that this novelty is not imminent on its arrival, so we will have to wait for the company to decide that everything is going as it should and that everyone can enjoy greater control of the backup copy that WhatsApp has. Without a doubt, an excellent idea. >
