Since its appearance in the 1985 film Back to the Futurethe DMC DeLorean went on to become one of the most iconic cars in cinema.

After almost four decades since its debut, it seems that someone decided to bring the DeLorean out of its lethargy to update it and present it to the new generations, but this time as a electric car.
DeLorean Motor Company is responsible for this project, which since 2008 had expressed its intentions to bring this car model to life again, but due to the shortage of parts and lack of an engine supplier, it had to give up the idea.
Now the manufacturing company has brought the Alpha5a version that preserves in its aesthetics the aspects of the original design of the 80s, but giving it a more futuristic look.
Likewise, the improvements made in the technical part are highlighted as this is a car faster and efficient. In that sense, the new electric DeLorean far exceeds the 141.6 kilometers per hour reached by the original DeLorean in the first Back to the Future movie, being that it can go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.99 seconds and from 0 to 142 kilometers in 4.35 seconds.
The mechanics present in this model is endowed with the capacity to reach a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
When it comes to its specifications, the Alpha5 will have a 100kWh batterywhich will offer this vehicle a range of up to 480 kilometers on each charge.
Also, this model of electric car has enough space to house four passengersthus surpassing the approach of the original model of the 80s.
August 21 will be the date on which it will be planned to present the Alpha5 during an event.
Added to this, DeLorean Motor Company stated that they will produce different configurations of this modelso that interested people can buy one with a higher range or higher acceleration speed than those mentioned in this post.
Although its price was not disclosed, it is estimated that it will range between 150 thousand and 175 thousand dollars.
