More and more apps offer users the dark mode, with light text and black background: an aesthetic question, of course, but also a way to save battery in certain contexts (although a study has shown that the advantages in this sense are not that consistent). Choosing between light and dark seems to be no longer in question for some Facebook users on iOS: on their iPhones and iPads, in fact, the dark mode has disappeared.
However, we must not despair: it is in fact a bug and the situation will soon be restored. At the moment, however, Facebook has not acknowledged the problem and has not made any comments on it. There are many users who have complained about this change on other platforms, underlining how Facebook’s dark mode cannot be entered either by going from the app menu itself or by changing the device settings.
Of course, this is not a serious bug since the functioning of the app is guaranteed 100%, but it can be annoying especially for those users who use dark mode as the default for the whole device. And there is no shortage of ironic comments on the issue.
