Recently the app owned by Meta, Facebook saw how one of the most requested modes for iOS disappeared from the social network. The report stems from multiple users on Facebook, who after confirmation by some media, detected that the social network’s dark mode on iOS ceased to exist for no apparent reason. Although everything seems to point to some kind of error that is uncommon, the responsible company has not issued any statement, much less an upcoming solution.
Facebook for iOS stopped having dark mode for no reason
At the moment, user reports turned into complaints through the Twitter social network. This due to the inexplicable disappearance of the dark interface on Facebook. All compatibility of this interface was heavily affected towards the entire iOS system.
Because of this, Facebook will now not accept system dark mode preferences on your device. In addition, it now eliminates any possibility of putting the dark mode back even if it is manually within the social network application itself. So far, this represents a serious mistake too relevant to be easily ignored. Since this is starting to be a major annoyance for users who have the dark mode set for the entire system of their iPhone or iPad.
The dark mode update was released within the iOS 13 version in 2019, where this interface already included the entire system. However, on the part of Facebook (currently Meta as the global name of the company), it still took its respective time to be able to support this interface. This feature was not ready until the end of June 2020. Almost a whole year ago from Apple and the announcement of iOS 13 integrated with dark mode.
For the moment, the possibility that the company was responsible for intentionally removing the dark mode must be ruled out. In that case, it should have completely removed Facebook’s compatibility with the iOS system. Although the company does not offer any release announcement in the iOS updates of the application, they come out almost every 7 days at most. One of the probabilities is that recurring app updates have affected Facebook dark mode for iOS through some failed change.
