Telegram users can now send each other cryptocurrencies, specifically the toncoins developed by The Open Network (TON) platform.
Cryptocurrencies are decentralized digital securities that do not depend on a central bank
Thanks to Blockchain technology or distributed registry, virtual currencies can count on their transactions and storage or custody with maximum security, which can allow, as will now happen through Telegram, transactions and money sending with complete confidence.
In the case of the virtual currency toncoin, the TON platform that has developed it allows a certain amount of this cryptocurrency to be sent directly from a Telegram chat. without, in addition, there being an additional charge of commissions. Sending is as simple as sending an image, since it operates as if it were a file attached to the message.
Users must add the Telegram Wallet bot (or virtual wallet) to the menu where the files that can be shared are displayed, which will allow to acquire toncoin units by credit card, exchange or transfer from other virtual wallets.
The TON platform itself has announced it through its Twitter account, including an explanatory video on how it works.
You can now send #Toncoin directly within Telegram chats!
It’s a new way to send Toncoin without transaction fees to any Telegram user. With this service, you’ll no longer need to enter long wallet addresses and wait for confirmations.

TON has taken advantage the open source platform that Telegram itself had developed to allow operations with cryptocurrencies, but which it abandoned in 2020 due to pressure exerted by the Stock Exchange Commission (SEC, equivalent in the United States to the National Securities Market Commission in Spain) with its own currency, the Gram.
Despite abandoning that initiative, a group of developers under the new company TON (which initially stood for Telegram Open Network) took up the baton, renamed Gram as toncoin, launched the said cryptocurrency with an initial offer that fetched more than $1.7 billion in its acquisitions.
