Waze: keep your kids busy in the car with the voices of Paw Patrol

Waze is getting a new feature that just might save your summer. The mapping service knows how taxing it can be to make long journeys with your children on board. To avoid a nervous breakdown, Waze now includes the voices of Paw Patrol, a famous cartoon adored by the little ones.

When you are a mapping service like Waze, you have to constantly renew yourself to hope to remain competitive against the juggernaut that Google Maps represents. In fact, the application has received many new features in recent years, such as the display of toll prices, the availability of Google Assistant in French, or the possibility of planning a route on PC and finding it on smartphones.

However, on this Thursday, August 19, 2021, Waze is thinking of the parents who will have to take the road to vacation (or home) at the end of the summer period. The developers know that these long journeys can be stressful for parents and children alike. So to avoid a nervous breakdown or the unfortunate forgetfulness of a little monster on a motorway service area, Waze announces the integration of Paw Patrol voices on its application.

Waze saves your ride with Paw Patrol voices

Once the Paw Patrol experience is activated, all voice instructions (route, traffic alerts, etc.) will be given by Ryder, the hero of the series, but also Skye, Marshall and Chase. It will also be possible to change your vehicle icon on the map, choosing for example Stella’s plane, Marcus’ fire truck or even Chase’s police car. Personally, we prefer to keep the Batmobile.

Small clarification, this icon will also be visible to all other members of the Waze community. If you report a crash, slowdown, or construction on the map, you’ll spawn with one of the Paw Patrol devices. Last thing, PAW Patrol voices will be available for a limited time on Waze, without further details from the developers. Finally, and this is probably the most annoying point, the voices are only offered in English. This may be an opportunity for your children to start practicing the language of Shakespeare in the car.
