Zoom is adding a new feature to its client for Windows and macOS that will benefit distracted users.

So if you use the Zoom client on Windows or Mac, you will be interested in learning about this new update.

Zoom implements automatic updates in its Windows client

In addition to the updates with news that the applications know how to launch, there are those that correct software errors or solve any vulnerability present in the application.

In that case of Zoom for Windows, these updates were not automatic (for individual desktop client users), so it was the user’s responsibility to update the Zoom client to receive updates or fixes.

A pending that not all users have in mind, so the updates are not installed in the Zoom client for Windows. To address this issue, the Zoom team is releasing a new feature that allows you to configure updates to be automatic.

To do this, it is necessary for users to activate the option “Automatically keep my Zoom updated” from the application Settings. It is a simple action, since it will only ask you for your password to confirm that you are giving the corresponding permission for the application to perform this automatic update.

You will see that Zoom allows you to configure the updates as “slow” or “fast”:

The ‘Slow’ option, selected by default, provides less frequent updates and focuses on maximizing stability. The ‘Fast’ option allows you to adopt the latest features and updates as soon as they are available.

And of course, when important security updates are concerned, they will be installed automatically for all users, regardless of the type of configuration set. And if you no longer want to have this dynamic, you can reverse the action and cancel the automatic updates at any time, following the same steps that we mentioned before from the Zoom Settings.
