Xiaomi launches a new mobile: it will break the mid-range and yes, it will arrive in Europe

It seemed that Xiaomi was not at all active in what has to do with the launch of new smartphones. But things have changed today, since the Asian company has announced a new device that comes to share in the mid-range product and that shows very good manners (and yes, it will come to Europe).

The team we are talking about is the Xiaomi Civ 2, but we should not pay too much attention to the name, because outside of China it will have another as we will indicate later. The fact is that we are talking about a smartphone that has striking options, such as a cutout on the screen in the form of a pill. Yes, in the purest iPhone 14 Pro style, but without its advanced features (at least for the moment).

Continuing with the panel that includes the terminal, this is type OLED with dimensions of 6.55 inches. Therefore, it is not one of the largest mobiles on the market and, consequently, it can be handled easily. The thing is that this component, with resolution FullHD+has options as important as a frequency of 120Hz: a brightness of 800 nits; covers 100% of DCI-P3 color; and, in addition, it is compatible with HDR and has protection Gorilla Glass 5. Come on, it has everything without being part of the high-end product.

Power? This Xiaomi smartphone is not missing

To begin with, in this section it should be noted that it has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor -which has liquid cooling so that heat is not a problem- which is combined with a RAM type LPDDR4 in different capacities to offer great strength when it comes to power. It should also be noted that storage is type UFS 2.2. It is not the best version of this technology, but it has enough work speed so that the SoC does not cause any delay to appear.

Other options that are important know about the Xiaomi Civ 2 are the ones that we leave in the following list:

  • 4,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charge.
  • Connectivity: 5G; WiFi 6; NFC; Bluetooth 5.2; infrared; USB Type C
  • Stereo sound compatible with Dolby Atmos.
  • 7.23 millimeter thickness
  • Weight: 171.8 grams.
  • Operating system: Android 12 with MIUI 13 customization.

The camera of this terminal

As usual in most models with a Google operating system, there are three sensors on the back of the device. The main is a Sony IMX766 50MP, which has advanced options such as optical stabilization to always achieve good results (including 4K recording). In addition, it has an additional 20MP element and other 2MP elements that work as a help in the wide angle and macro, respectively.

In what has to do with the selfie camera, it has two sensors of 32 megapixelswhich work in combination with several LEDs so that the lighting is always the best possible (they have the positive detail of being able to manage the color temperature).

Prices of the different versions of the mobile

There are three different variants of this equipment that are initially launched, which will go on sale in Europe (possibly under the name of Xiaomi 12 Lite NE). They are the following:

  • 8GB + 128 gigabytes: about 335 euros to change
  • 8GB + 256 gigabytes: about 350 euros to change
  • 12GB + 256 gigabytes: about 392 euros to change
