Last week Microsoft released Windows 11 Build 22621.1194 to Insider program members. The new version of the operating system arrives through the KB5022360 update, promising to fix some bugs reported by users over the month, including the recurring problems with Remote Desktop crashing.

First identified several months ago, the Windows 11 virtualization system flaw caused crashes, random disconnections and problems connecting virtual machines through a gateway or Connection Agent, and until then, no definitive correction had been provided by the developer.

It should be noted that this update is still under review on the Release Preview channel for Insiders, so it should only arrive in a stable way in the coming days.

The error in the virtualization system seems to only occur on devices running the “22H2” version of Windows 11, and as Microsoft seems willing to “force” that all users are running this version of the software, the correction is essential.

Other issues addressed by the update include a bug that caused applications to crash when an input method editor was enabled, crashes when opening image files via the taskbar search engine, and the inability to fetch a document based on its contents.

Build 22621.1194 can be released stably to all users in the first or second week of February via Patch Tuesday, if testers don’t find any serious issues that compromise the user experience.
