WhatsApp will improve groups with these functions

New features could soon reach WhatsApp groups that would give communities a plus.

At the moment, these functions are not active, but they already show some signs in the beta version of the app. We tell you some of the future news that WhatsApp prepares for groups.

WhatsApp prepares new functions for groups

The WhatsApp team announced several news for the groups during the first months of the year. New moderation tools, reactions and some options that improve the dynamics of the groups.

And now it is preparing two new features that could be implemented in future updates of the WhatsApp app, as mentioned in WABetaInfo. One of them has to do with users leaving groups.

Until now, when someone leaves a group, an automatic message is activated in the chat notifying them of the action. A dynamic that will change in the future, in order not to expose so much to users who leave, so administrators will only be informed when a user leaves the group.

However, the new function that is under development reveals an option that complements the previous dynamic, since the groups will have a list of all active members as well as those who have recently left the community. A system that will only take into account the last 60 days.

Apparently this list will be available to all users who are part of the group, so goodbye anonymity when you stop being part. At the moment, it is in development, so it has to pass the beta phase to see if it can make it to the stable version.

On the other hand, another function for groups that is under development has to do with temporary messages. If the option for messages to disappear is activated in the group you participate in, you will have the possibility of keeping some of your messages, preventing them from being deleted when the stipulated period expires.

Whether this feature makes it past the testing stage to be implemented with one of the new group features remains to be seen.
