If the messages, photos and audios that WhatsApp allows you to send are not enough for you, you will be interested in learning about the new function that is being developed.

It is a function that many users envy Telegram, and that may be implemented in the WhatsApp app in the near future: video notes.

You can send short video clips on WhatsApp

One of the functions that we find in Telegram is the possibility of sending video clips to any user or group, with the same dynamics with which we send voice notes. We just have to click on the microphone icon to switch between voice or video messages.

This same dynamic is what WhatsApp wants to implement with the new function that is under development. WABetaInfo has shared some details that we will be able to see in this function, for example, these short videos will have a maximum duration of 60 seconds, and will be visible in the chat in the form of a circle.

At the moment, hints of this feature can only be seen in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS. However, this does not mean that it is not being considered to bring it to the version of WhatsApp for Android. We will have to wait for the video notes function to pass the different stages of development, as well as the testing phases, to see how it works.

And this is not the only feature in development. In a previous article we told you that WhatsApp is also working on the possibility of offering single-play audio messages. Just as you have picture and video messages that disappear once your contact views them, audio messages will also automatically delete when it’s detected that they’ve been played.

There are many new features that WhatsApp is preparing for future versions of the app, so we will have to wait to find out more details.
