The new beta 126.96.36.199 of WhatsApp on Android has made it possible to discover the ongoing development of another new function, connected to a more social use of the platform.
Although it could not be seen in operation, Wabetainfo identified a screen and the main features photographed from the current code. What is it about? Of the possibility of upload voice notes as status updates.
Everything could change in the next few weeks but this little interface taste shows us a great similarity with the text-based state composer, but with adding the button for recording a voice note.
Apparently it will also be possible to choose the background color for our recording, which will be displayed in the form of a comic to those who will listen to it. Playback will be automatic and will start whenever someone opens a status update. Finally, the voice note to be recorded cannot exceed 30 seconds and will be protected by end-to-end encryption.
The information at the moment ends here and, as explained above, it has not yet been possible to see it in operation, even within the beta channel. We will talk about it in the coming weeks, as soon as there are unpublished details or it will be possible to see it in action.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is really working on a myriad of functional innovations, including the ability to hide the online status, a new option to import backups, automatic generation of avatars and much more.
