The WhatsApp application is launching a large number of new features lately -many of them in the test phase, it must be said-. One example is the new Chat Lock features or message editing. To maintain its position as one of the best messaging apps, the company is also working on aesthetic tweaks, like placing the navigation bar at the bottom. Well, it has been known that a new one of this type will arrive in a short time. With it, the app redefines the app’s approach to context menus. The new aspect is being tested in its version for Android and it has been possible to know how this element will definitely look like. The new context menu of WhatsApp for Android When you long press on a message in the current stable version of WhatsApp for Android, you will only see the emoji for reactions – while other options, such as delete, forward, etc., are found in the toolbar superior-. In all these years, Meta hasn’t changed this menu much in Google’s operating system. However, as reported by WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp (v2.23.11.4) for this operating system reveals a new context menu for messages, with a style that resembles the current implementation in iOS. This puts all options like Delete, Forward, Reply, and Info in a dropdown list, while emoji reactions still appear on top of the message itself. In this way, everything is much more intuitive, and the company’s idea of achieving uniformity in the versions for mobile devices that currently exist is maintained sooner rather than later. The new context menu still appears to be in development and is not even available to app testers (but the interface does exist within it, which is what has been revealed). This information also renews the hope that WhatsApp will make aesthetic changes, since its appearance is somewhat outdated in the Android operating system -the same is not the case in iOS, where everything has a more modern appearance-. Somewhat Forgotten Versions While we’re talking about parity between iOS and Android, it would be remiss to overlook the fact that the desktop version and WhatsApp linked devices still don’t support several features available on mobile devices, such as forwarding captions with the media files. And this is something that should change sooner rather than later. >
