WhatsApp is continuing to test new features that may soon be available to all users of the popular instant messaging app. With version 2.23.1.25, for example, it began testing a function that will make it easier and faster to transfer chats from one Android device to another. In version 2.23.2.5, available in beta through the Google Play Beta Program, there is instead a function that allows you to Quickly block an unwanted contact right from the message notification.Â
The option to block a contact will only be visible when a message is received from an unknown sender and unreliable. This limitation would be necessary to prevent the lock key from being accidentally clicked even when responding to a notification from a trusted contact.
With the previous version 2.23.2.4 beta of WhatsApp for Android, however, the possibility had arrived to quickly block unwanted contacts directly in the chat list, without the need to open the conversation first. This function can be especially useful for those who receive many messages from unknown senders or with whom you do not want to chat. At the moment, there does not seem to be a function that allows you to block multiple contacts at the same time.
Both the possibility of blocking a contact directly from a message notification and blocking it from the chat list will probably be integrated through an upcoming update in the official Whatsapp app.
