WhatsApp is working on improving the reaction mechanism in the mobile environment, and specifically today we’re talking about a small change identified by WABetaInfo neThe latest version available on iOS via the TestFlight Beta program.

The affected distribution is the 2.23.10.73, and although the following screen does not make a perfect sense of what is described, more and more users are starting to experience the change that we want to explain better below.

Apparently we will no longer need to open the context menu if we want to do a simple like to a messagesince the intention is to enable the double tap only for this type of reaction. Naturally, if we want to use another emoji, the option of a long tap to open the list of available reactions will remain unchanged.

The ‘thumbs up’ and ‘heart’ reactions have always been among the most popular choices, with the former at the top of the list, therefore this possibility will make the interaction much faster, without the need for additional steps as is the case now for the public version.

The modification is currently in development but considered minor scope of the change, we can assume that it will soon be introduced for everyone. We remind you that among the most interesting innovations unearthed in recent weeks, there is one that we have identified on Android beta and concerns on the one hand the layout, modified to be more similar to the iOS counterpart, on the other the Community function, continuously expansion.
