Twitter has been going through several changes and today one more of them arrived at the portal, which will now label tweets with reduced visibility. These publications have reduced reach and visibility because they go against the platform’s rules, such as hate speech, for example.
See an example of a tweet with reduced visibility below, where the following warning is shown in place of the content:
Limited visibility: This Tweet may violate Twitter’s rules against Hateful Conduct.
The announcement of the novelty says that the idea is to promote freedom of expression on the platform, because instead of deleting this type of content, it will only have its visibility reduced to prevent the spread of hate speech, which in short guarantees freedom of expression, but not of scope.

To reduce the reach of these posts, Twitter will not show them in search results, “For You” and “Following” timelines, and recommendations. Ads will also not be placed near these tweets to avoid branding these practices.
The platform also states that every user will have the right to question when a tweet has reduced visibility, as mistakes can happen, but Twitter “does not guarantee that you will receive a response or that the reach of your Tweet will be restored”.
This may be the consequence of the dismissals made by Elon Musk when acquiring Twitter, as the billionaire significantly reduced the social network’s moderation and security team.
