The changes on Twitter do not stop happening, since Elon Musk (the current owner) is following a policy similar to the one he follows in other of his companies, such as Tesla: always offer news so as not to stop being a trend. The fact is that now the tycoon has indicated in a message on the social network that he intends to launch a new Blue subscription option. And this one comes with a surprise. According to what Musk himself has indicated, there are many who see that the number of ads they see when using Twitter is excessive, and this is something that he wants to solve. And, beware, this is something most curious, since we are talking about touching one of the most powerful sources of income that the company has, which, let us not forget, is not going through its best economic moment (and this is one of the reasons for which now it has a number of workers that stands at about 2,500 when not long ago it exceeded seven thousand). And the idea to achieve this is neither ingenious nor surprising, but it is true that it was not present on the social network until now. New Blue subscription on Twitter This is what the company will do, according to its owner: launch a new Twitter Blue subscription option that will offer, among other things, not having to see ads while on the platform. But, of course, achieving this means having to give up something… and this something is paying more. In other words, if you want to not be interrupted by anything when you are checking the messages of the profiles you follow, you will have to pay a greater amount of money per month to achieve it. What we said before: nothing that is a surprise, far from it. It is to be expected that when this new subscription that could be called Premium arrives on Twitter, it will do so with something more than not having to suffer from ads, but for the moment this is unknown. And the same goes for the implementation date -which shouldn’t take long- and the price of the new subscription to the service which, let’s remember, is not yet present in all the countries where the social network is present (but they are already being advancing constant news, in the purest Tesla style). The company’s path is clear There are two objectives that Elon Musk seems to have with Twitter once he had to take the step of buying the social network. On the one hand, there is making this platform an attractive place where you can find all kinds of services. This is a long-term plan and, therefore, we are talking about a long-distance race that remains to be seen if the objectives are achieved without scaring users away beforehand. On the other hand, there is making the company viable, and in this case the idea is to get more income from the services provided (for example, with the arrival of Twitter Blue). And, furthermore, open new ways to earn more money, with additional advertising possibilities and, even, by removing third-party applications that compete with the company’s apps from the equation. And this is already something that has been achieved. >
