Twitter will soon allow users to use their Bitcoin to tip other accounts.

A dynamic that has already been confirmed by Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter’s product leader, although he has not provided details about the operation of this new proposal.

Twitter begins to dabble in Bitcoin

Twitter has not only officially presented the Super Follows, but is also preparing a series of news. As we saw in a previous article, you are developing a series of new features dedicated to user privacy and security.

And that’s not all, since it is also exploring the possibility of integrating Bitcoin into the platform. A novelty that was announced by Alessandro Paluzzi, but which has already been confirmed by the Twitter team.

You may remember that a few months ago, Twitter announced the TipJar feature, which allows users to send tips to other accounts. And for this, a series of platforms were enabled so that the user had different options when choosing the way to send money. Although the process begins on Twitter, the sending of the money continues on the corresponding payment platform, be it PayPal, Venmo, Patreon, Bandcamp, etc.

And it is in this system that Twitter plans to integrate Bitcoin, and perhaps even Super Follows. Yes, users will be able to tip Bitcoin to other accounts. At the moment, the Twitter team has only confirmed this news, but has not provided any details about its operation, when it will be implemented or which countries it will be included in this dynamic.

According to the screenshots shared by Alessandro paluzzi, Twitter will use the Lightning network and Strike, and users will be guided to connect their cryptocurrency wallet, but we will have to wait for Twitter to reveal more information about this new possibility that it will offer on the platform.
